A few new pieces... (February 2014)

17/01/14
I have not been able to update in so long since Christmas and the mass amount of time dissertation, research and case studies have taken out of me! But I have decided to put up a few new things in preparation for next week where I'll be making a huge effort to get back into my studio. I am excited to do some more painting again, finally! (Whilst still juggling all the theory as well, eek...)

Got myself a UV light.. Being stupid here but going to use the paint for part of an exhibition soon...

Latest paintings... Playing with this shape a lot, quite enjoying it. Looking forward to making more.

Playing with more red, made the women come across hellish or covered in blood. Whereas I simply just scribbled over them with no intention but to saturate the body form in red, which comes out violent - interestingly.

From a magazine cut, found the "royal" red coat kinda funny and interesting.
"studio mess"

I dressed up as a Phoenix, again obsession with red grows... And it was for fun but still, a good drawing nonetheless and something different to practice with.

Playing with this mini "disfigureds" sculptures I made last year, I moved them around in various positions to photograph them and they made an interesting effect on paper so I documented it too.

Sketchbook design of some shirts in an advert, made a red line drawing of them. Quite like the simplicity of this one.

Playing around with displaying completed pieces.

Volunteering at Jordan Wolfson's exhibition at Chisenhale Gallery, great experience!

Me at the exhibition, had to be done for the record/to show my mum :)

Pre First Semester Assessment...

How I live, and the balloons were part of my work too... Such fun! So much mess!!

Draped my dress over the easel, playing with presenting works.
Left the red shoe at the bottom to give it a humanised feel.
The painting was experimenting with marks I could make using make-up instead of paint. Fun!

My 'colour mixing board' for inspiration :)

Studio beginning of October 2013

Things tend to get messy!

Combining a painting, with a photograph, in photoshop. I like her. #dailymail #howtobeawoman

Playing with digital painting with my 'painting to music' pieces.
iTunes visualizer is a great inspiration!

Summer doodles.. Cheeky!

The finished result displayed in my "study area"!
Recycled bottles of Alcohol by cleaning them out, filling them with a small amount of acrylic paint and water and leaving upside down overnight...

Still feel proud of the 5ft oil painting I did for our second year exhibition 'The Perfect System' at the Arch Gallery in Bethnal Green in June! Such a great experience, really glad I was a big part of organising it and so proud of myself and my friends hard work.
